CIP
CIP is the short form of a “continuous improvement process.” It is a concept that provides for continuous, small-step improvements that are intended to lead to an increase in the quality of products, processes, and services in companies. In the long term, this should result in improved competitiveness and profitability. A CIP must be implemented and anchored into the corporate culture. Many small advances and developments in a company’s work areas result in a continually progressing optimization process. The driving force should be the employees themselves.
- A CIP can be implemented in different ways. Mostly, a continuous cycle of identification, analysis, improvement, and review is aimed at as a basis.
- Through its process nature, the CIP method is also intended to promote companies’ flexibility and adapt more quickly to changing market conditions.
- CIP has its origins in the Japanese method of Kaizen. Some use these terms in parallel.
