Manage Data From Production and Planning Synchronously in SAP

Benefit from our unique offering in the MES market:
Manage shop floor and top floor data synchronized in your SAP ERP
with the FDI4SAP module in our MES FLEX solution

Reliable data exchange between top floor and shop floor

The module Framework Data Integration for SAP (FDI4SAP) is an extension in the SAP namespace for two-way data exchange between top floor and shop floor:

With FDI4SAP, you can easily and securely connect your SAP ERP system with our manufacturing control system MES FLEX for production control.

FDI4SAP enables data to be exchanged in both directions.

FDI4SAP ensures

  • that important data such as planned orders, production orders, shift schedules, personnel data and customer-specific data is automatically and reliably delivered from SAP to MES FLEX, and
  • that the actual data from the shop floor is transferred directly to SAP and posted correctly and correctly in the corresponding SAP ERP modules (PP, HR, etc.)

Challenges with separate data storage

  • Complexity and media disruptions

  • Inefficient processes

  • Inconsistent and incomplete data

  • Lack of transparency

  • Time lost due to last-minute order changes

    Flexibility

What exactly does FDI4SAP do?

  • This module ensures the automatic and reliable exchange of important data, such as production orders, shift schedules, machine capacities, and personnel data, between SAP and the MES system.
  • The data is transferred via standardized paths supported by SAP, such as IDoc and HTTP-XML. This guarantees that both systems always have the most up-to-date, consistent information, eliminating the need for duplicate data maintenance.
  • The MES FLEX solution can send feedback to the SAP system regarding quantities produced, rejects, rework, and machine and personnel times. This feedback is automatically assigned to the correct areas in SAP.

How does data exchange work in both directions?

  • SAP and MES FLEX communicate via a defined interface based on SAP standards. This makes the solution particularly stable and future-proof.
  • Incoming data is automatically checked and processed in the SAP system. An integrated correction module enables corrections from the MES system to be transferred directly into the SAP system.
  • Time data from the MES is automatically compared with the SAP system time to ensure there are no major discrepancies.
