DiCES – Circular Economy with Data-based Value Creation

The DiCES project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).

The Task

Existing circular strategies in manufacturing companies, also known as ReX strategies, focus on individual measures such as re-pair. However, this means that the full ecological and economic potential of the circular economy is not utilized. To this end, value creation systems must be designed that enable the parallel integration of several circular strategies – from linear to circular value creation.

The aim of the DiCES research project is to develop an innovative, data-based value creation system that seamlessly integrates the circular economy into companies’ business operations. DiCES stands for “Digital Transformation of Circular Economy for Industrial Sustainability”.

The Goals

  • Development of a data-based integrated value creation system for the multidimensional circular economy for manufacturing companies
  • Development of a multi-circular order processing system
  • Development of scalable, hybrid production

Partner-specific goals

  • Provide data for end-to-end product data model
  • Digitally empower workers to perform your production task.
  • A data-driven OEE optimization of the shop floor

Contribution from FORCAM-ENISCO

“Recycling” consists of 9 different ‘Re-X’ approaches in the DiCES project. The tasks ‘“R3” to “R7” have an impact on the shop floor organization and therefore affect FORCAM ENISCO’s solutions.

  • Modeling of material supply and disposal
  • Mapping the reordering process for planned but not required components
  • Design of operator guidance for the worker so that he is guided through the work task in a comprehensible manner, even with new assembly and disassembly tasks
  • Definition and mapping of the decision-making process for components that are not required
  • Guidelines for SMEs for mapping a circular economy-capable shop floor
